location
The shipyard is located at the Cartagena port which is one of the fastest developing ports in the region. Cartagena is situated outside of the hurricane belt and has a large protected bay area with almost no waves. The allowed draft of the entrance to the bay is 12 m. Cartagena is located only 180 miles from the Panama Canal and close to the main international shipping routes.
climatic conditions
Due to the tropical location of Cartagena, the climate changes very little throughout the year, with an average high of 31° and an average low of 24°. Cartagena receives about 100 cm of rain yearly, with a rainy season in October and a very long dry season from December through April.
premises
The shipyard is situated on 60.000 square meters (about 22 acres) of property land, with 520 linear meters of berthing space. Navtech is able to park and repair ships up to 220 meters of length overall.
